hi, i just wanted to ask a quwstion to the ppl in charge

who is the person who writes stuff in "kobra's corner' and hjow may I contact them? i wish to interview this "kobra" for an assignment my pastor gave us at sunday school. the assignment was to find a heathen adn ask them why they habve turned away from christianity, and to tell them there's still time to ask god for forgiveness and be saved.

First off, how did you find this website? We aren't exactly the first hit on google for "heathen", you know. Is this some kind of bad joke, or will you fools crawl through hundreds of search results until you find some obscure website, only to go there and make an idiot of yourself?

Secondly, how am I a heathen? I'm not just a heathen, I'm an asshole, too. But above all this I'm an American, and I have the freedom to NOT believe in Christianity.

More importantly, though: What kind of lame-assed assignment is that? Isn't Christianity supposed to be an open-minded religion? Your pastor is trying to talk you into commiting religious opression. That's a violation of my Constitutional rights.

And, just for your information, I'm Kobra. "Nice" to meet you. I write my opinions in Kobra's Corner, and if you don't like 'em then don't read 'em. It's as simple as that.

And, y'know, I used to be a Christian. Honestly. And then I turned 4 and realized that no omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, "kind, loving, and forgiving" God would make one person burn for ETERNITY because they made one mistake in life. I can see that this will never click with you, mainly because of the ignorance associated with ultra-religious people.

Go find someone else to forcefeed your hackneyed religion. Organized religion makes me sick.

For some reason, people like you seem to think religion makes you a better person than people like Kobra.

You're Wrong, Dead Wrong, and Jesus is probably angry with you for it.

And should you so Inherently say that I'm wrong on this, I'd like to point out that you called him a "Heathen," which is, most regrettably, a Christian term of Inferiority. You also mentioned The Salvation of Others, a goal of you and me alike, and probably kobra too, though I'll admit, not as "holy" as ours. Let me ask you this, hypothetically, if someone came to you, called you a heathen, and then spoke of a god of love and mercy, and tried to recruit the heathen to what seemed to be a cult more than a true faith, what would your response be?

If you said Fuck No, then your absolutely right, and free to repent and waste for your ignorance.

If you Said Yes or The Like, You're an Idiot, and are lesser a person than any I've met

I am a Christian, but I happen to believe the parts of the bible that preach toleration, Acceptance, and Forgiveness, not just read them. I disagree with many things Kobra says, does, and believes; He knows it, and others do as well. I believe he has the same feelings vice-versa. But I actually TRY to see from HIS and others points of view... I try to be Open and willing to listen to opposing views, and you wanna know why?!

Because, I believe that Christianity is the true Faith, and because of that, why do I need to be shaking in fear and opposition when someone brings up something different.

Also, I go to Church rarely, and before you go saying "Pagan, Heathen, Hypocrite!!!", I'll tell you why:

Christianity is supposed to be a Personal faith, not a Holy army of believers.

The things your doing is proof for my argument. You go to church, your pastor gives you an Assignment to track down a "Heathen," Find out why he's a heathen, and bring back the data so you can recruit more members for your hypocritic organization.

I won't Condemn you like you did Kobra, you know why? Because it says in the BIBLE that judgement is his place, not yours, you moron...

I'm not terribly bothered about being called a heathen - you're a complete and total stranger to me, as I am to you, so I'm fairly certain your judgement can't be based on anything beyond what you know off this site, which in the case of anyone except Kobra, and the posts, is... probably highly minimal.

And if I offended you JesusFreak, good. Compared to standard religions, I'd be a 100% non-religious guy. However I do respect, listen to, and try to see the meaning behind valid philosophies in various religions. Note I didn't say "teachings", I take them as philosophies, not something rigidly defined like math (1+1=2).
For example, Christianity says that "god made you in his image". However I took that as "live life in a proper and fun way", which is in a way common sense.

So bottom line: Believe in what you want and don't give a fucking crap about what others believe in. And with that said, get the fuck out of here JesusFreak.

P.S. And no, I'm not usually this harsh, but I hate to see people forcing things when they don't have the right.

TK, that whole easter thing is just like Christmas in my opinion... On christmas, No child wants to go to church and listen to how a Savior was born... NO matter how important it was... Same thing with easter, Noone wants to wake up and hear how someone died, and then arose and then came back, and then arose again...

To put it simply, there are few reasons why these holidays are like they are...

1. To draw in the youth into observing these holidays
2. To make them days to look foward to..
and 3. to emulate the feelings of those day's importance:

Easter is "Easter Egg in Bush" = "Suprise" = "OMFG!!! THE GUYS ALIVE AGAIN!!!"

Christmas is "Giving and recieving, and a Generous atmosphere" = "Goodwill" = "God has given us a savior! Let us be happy W00T!!!!"

Yes. We call God, God.... Oddly we have many names for him, but god is simpler, and Christianity was meant to be a simple personal faith (I know, this is like the 17th time I've said it).... Jehovah, Noel, Emmanuel, The Lion (Of Judah) and such

Yahweh is the name that Jews have for god... it means "I am" in hebrew lol, That's What God told Moses when asked what he was called....

Also, I have a theory on the Question of Gods and Goddesses, and it seems to comply with christianity very well.... I may make a literary later...

On the other hand, Kobra found a god in Omen lol

In any case, Kobra Turned away, not Didn't know, he left of his own accord... and maybe if you understood why he did, you would understand why it's possible:

1. For Him and Me to get along
2. For the fallen to be held in respect, not contempt
3. Everyone here is pretty much against you, except with Omen going to hell, which he seems to like the idea anyway lol

It's very common, you see, Christianity is a religion based off the teaching of a Man-God, who represented a God... The bible says that it is the "Word of God" and not to Heed the teachings of men...

But therein lies a problem, The Bible was written by men, and it was "Based" off the teachings of the Man-God, and never in any of those chapters did Holy hands write that book... So basically, it is very probable that the bible was altered, and even if not, We shouldn't heed it because men wrote it... A contradiction unto it's purpose.

Another problem is that the Old Testament and New Testament don't align well...

The Jewish God of the Old was a God Of Vengeance, He had occasional Mercy, but he was also directly involved... 'Eye for an Eye' was the law

The Christian God of the New was Merciful, and Loving... Not many instances of violence or interaction with man occured... 'Turn the Other Cheek' became the law, and we were freed from the old law...

So we were freed from the old law it seems, okay, but why didn't we do that from the beginning? Weird...

And then, Hell... Perpetual Agony... and this is brought on by a merciful God? even more weird...

these are reasons people turn from Christianity... and they are NOT reasons to be angry and spiteful towards them... They aren't traitors... They saw no reason to follow a faith which in many cases is either corrupt or baseless... They used reason, and it took them on a different path, as we used reason and we stayed...

and where were the lord's emissaries when these people stumbled, and were on the knees of their faith... Surely, some glimpse of Holiness, an appearance of an angel, or maybe some assurance could have prevented these Deserters from.. deserting

And here is the solution, If no act was made to save these people from Falling, then why punish them... I bear no hatred to people like Kobra... they found no reason to follow the path I did, and that's fine... Maybe one day he'll find his reason, maybe not, but why Hold a grudge against him and others when they were never given a reason to think otherwise...

I follow my Ideals... The ones that show Mercy, Compassion, Tolerance, Generousity, Loyalty, Kindness, Humility and so on... We were given two things: Free will and Desire, Free will allows us to emulate the desire, and Desire Guides free will... We were also given one more, but it remains something you find for yourself...

Conscience, the depiction of what is Good and What is bad.... This is something we know we have, but we have to find it, and to do so, we sacrifice some from free will and some from desire...

I do what I do, cause I believe it's the right thing... Christianity, in my knowledge, is a faith that emulates these actions... and I've never been perfect, I've done alot of bad things I don't think I'll ever forgive myself for, but that's no reason to quit on it, and just continue on the same path... My reason came to me when I saw what happened when you live for yourself, not just to yourself but to others as well... I was shown more Kindness and Affection then I deserved, by someone who was dear to me, and I won't ever be able to repay her.

This was my reason... Everyday, I wake up looking at a Scale, with two lives on it, and I always find mine undeserving...

My point is, if you're going to parade around, thinking A christian is supposed to go around Banishing people to hell, Insulting people because you disagree with them and so on; Be my Guest, You'll only have your entire world shattered in the end... Just don't do it around me, The Only reason I didn't go insane on you is because I've had recent events to soften my head.
